Our efforts to create a better transportation system in Albany often include pushing for more infrastructure and policy at the regional level. To better understand the full depth and breadth of our work in the City of Albany and beyond, visit our Regional Work page.
Reimagining Albany’s Streets
Albany’s recent street improvements are just the first steps toward creating a city with safer, people-first streets that deliver a higher quality of life for everyone in our communities.
To envision these next steps, Capital Streets presents “Reimagining Albany’s Streets”: a policy plan for the City of Albany.

Active Streets Report
In 2025, the Albany Convention Center Authority partnered with Capital Streets to explore key opportunities for improving connectivity, placemaking, and street life in Downtown Albany’s public spaces. As a result of this exploration, Capital Streets produced a “Connectivity + Placemaking in Downtown Albany Study Report” for ACCA.
2026“Reimagining” 787
When it comes to the bigger picture of how changes to 787 can truly impact these communities, the vision for real, transformative change is missing. We cannot solve the problems associated with 787 today by using the same thinking that helped create 787.
